ROCK IN THE WATER

I Must’ve Been A DOPE
To Get Up Out Of That Boat!
I Looked At The Waves
And Started Sinkin’
Soon, It Would Be Sea Water
That I’d Be A Drinkin”
“HELP ME JESUS!”
I Began To Cry,
“IM GOIN’ UNDER!!!”
“I’M GONNA DIE!!!”
That’s When The Master Took Hold Of My Hands
And We Both Walked On Those Waves
Just Like Dry Land!
When We Were Both Back In The Boat
He Said Unto Me
If You Didn’t Doubt
You Would’ve Continued To Float!

Once again, in Bible study my crazy artistic mind began to free associate... this time imagining what a cartoon version of Peter might have been saying to himself after his near drowning experience with Jesus walking on the Water. Not all of my poetry is "deep thought provoking and insightful" I LOVE doing poems that are humorous and lighthearted to. This copyrighted piece is part of a series of similar poems/prose done for children/youth ministry project.
