Pretty Gurls always pass me by
by Elgin Bolling
Pretty Girls! Pretty Girls! They always pass me by!
I’m too shy to look them in the eye…
Each Saturday night, I ask myself,
WHY??
Why don’t I have someone to love??
A beautiful girl who fits my soul, just like a glove?
I feel like a slug…gotta get out more…
Struck up a conversation with a girl the other day..
She turned and walked away.
Said I was just a terrible bore…
That is, right after she began to snore!
She spun on her heels and walked out the door..
Sigh…What's it all for?
Hey I wanna know, Just WHAT is s my flaw??
It can’t be my looks… Gee whiz… I see girls dating guys who look just like
CROOKS!
At least I keep my nose stuck here in a book
So that when the time comes when a pretty girl passes my way,
Then I’ll have something interesting to say!
LOOK! Here’s one right NOW! She's walking my way!!!
…What to say… what to say...what to say.... WHAT TO SAY????!
Er… Hello…Howdy…uh… Hey!
Nice…Day….er…. Are ….You… Feeling… Okay?
WHAT?? REALLY?? NO WAY!!
You mean… you actually want to STAY??!!
And talk to a guy like ME???
YOU MEAN...FOR FREE???
Thank YOU!! …Awww… shucks…. wow… Gee…
That’s so awfully nice… but
I just CAN’T
It just wouldn’t be Right…I mean after all... YOU'RE JUST NOT MY TYPE!
Come near and hear the sound of my soul through the writing on the page, as seen on the screen. These words do not age, not one sentence, or phrase...Dont appraise or be afraid of them, let your consciousness be raised by them! let your mouth join in praise and jubilation!these psalms I write, are for the nations regardless of your situation.

SWING, BATTER, BATTER! SWING BATTER!
"SWING BATTER! BATTER! SWING BATTER! "
Time to stop whining and crying
Reminiscing and sighing,
And dwelling on the past!
Those days are GONE
They're OVER!
They did not last
Stand up straight!
You've got a date
With the
Rest of your life!
DONT BE LATE!
Pick up your bat,
Step up to the plate,
Keep your eye on the ball, and
SWING!!
Hit it HARD!
Make it SING!
You've only got
One Bell to ring,
So
MAKE SOME NOISE!!!
Don't even worry about it
If you don't swing with "poise "
And don't even think about performing for ya "boyz!"
Be an individual!
Be your OWN Man!
Forget about ya crew!!
After all,
They're all confused , and don't know WHAT to do!
Just a bunch crabs in the barrel
Who always like to "hang out"
But get jealous when you try to
Climb out, and get yourself some clout!
I say,
Ball up ya fist tight,
And knock 'em ALL out of your way!
You weren't meant to live life in a barrel!
NO WAY!!
So reach for the sky!
Have a ball!
You really CAN " have it ALL!"
So, SWING, BATTER, BATTER! SWING BATTER!
It don't matter how many times you've struck out
Stepping up to the plate
Is what life's all about!

YOUR GRACE STILL AMAZES ME COVER Phillips Craig and Dean Sung by Elgin Bolling AKA El Prophet the Scribe
This is a practice run of Phillips Craig and Dean's Classic, YOUR GRACE STILL AMASES ME, that I am singing today in morning worship. I've since worked out the kinks in the song, especially on the "E" Vowels which sound very whiney and lack power. I am as prepared as I can be and must remember to focus on leading people to worship, and not so much a vocal performace, which is always a challenge. Perhaps in a later post i will have some musical backup .
